The Indigo Race

I am a member of the Indigo race.

It's not about the colour of one's skin, you know. It's about the "content of one's character."

We don't come from some continent full of people who look a lot like us. We are part of the Web, even when we don't have an Internet connection. The other races are continental races. We are a global race.

Governments of the world have first taken away every square inch of land, and then they took away our Internet. But we rebelled. We don't have to use their root server system, and pay taxes to them on that over which the People have sovereignty to begin with. We have our own DNS root server system, and pay taxes to no one.

We are also brilliant legal scholars, since we realise that Roman law doesn't apply to the Internet, but a higher law called Cesidian law. Even the best lawyers of the other races haven't quite figured that out yet.

We are the Fifth-Sixth race, of the Blue-Indigo ray. The race of White, Yellow, Black, and Red folks is only skin deep; our race is much deeper, since it comes from within.

Our Fifth Sense of hearing and our Sixth Sense (ESP) are both strong. We prefer if you just let us hear our iPods, and allow us to meditate. The other folks get their kicks primarily from the touch, taste, smell, and sight senses.

The Fifth Element of spirit (ether) is important to us, while most other races are primarily about earth, water, air, and fire, the material elements.

Other races may brag about their Four Wheels being firmly to the ground. They consider us "flaky" at best, and insane at worst. But they will realise we exist when one their wheels gets a flat, and they will need a spare or Fifth Wheel. Other races love living in static dwellings, tied to oppressive jurisdictions; we are more international, nomadic, and we easily leave static habitations for mobile Fifth Wheel trailers. By the way, even an old bus will do!

Christians tell us about the Four Gospels, the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. We ask them about the Fifth Gospel, the Gospel of Thomas, and they act like that is something phoney. The truth, however, is more like this: the Fifth Gospel is the truth, and the light, and has never been altered for political ends, unlike the other four... Have you ever wondered why in the end, the Book of Revelation discourages anyone from altering its content? Well, that in itself is REVELATION! There is also a Sixth Gospel, the Gospel of the Nazirenes, or Gospel of the Holy Twelve.

Some folks believe that Freedom of Expression, the First Amendment, is the most important. These people are information monopolists called journalists. Some people think the Right to Bear Arms (Second Amendment) is sacrosanct. These are those that will first shoot you, and then say "I'm sorry" later! Other folks worry about the conditions for housing of soldiers (Third Amendment). We ask them: what about the homeless, who could never afford $640 toilet seats? Don't they have a right to housing too? Still others consider protection against unreasonable search & seizure (Fourth Amendment) paramount. We think it is wiser to take the Fifth — the Fifth Amendment!

The armies of the whole world consider themselves a First, Second, Third, or Fourth Column. We are proud to be the Fifth Column, the Trojan horse, which seems secret and subversive, but in reality we just want all those other columns off our backs, please! Subversion to a despot is real freedom from a doctriot's perspective.

And what motherland does an Indigo doctriot defend? Not the First World, the world ruled by corporations and their kissing-cousin corrupt governments. Not the Second World, which often serves the First for no good reason, and will even allow it to pollute its own land with GM seeds. Not the Third World, often ruled by despots or outright criminals. Not the Fourth World, where matriots may turn to terrorism in order to gain power. No, an Indigo doctriot doesn't defend these worlds. An Indigo doctriot defends the Fifth World, which is a cyberworld, a world of true freedom! And the Fifth World can also be tangible and earthly. The Fifth World can also be about land.

Surely the clergy, the First Estate, will attack us for our Fifth Gospel. Surely the nobles, the Second Estate, will attack us because we are not "real" nobles, you know, the landed ones! Surely the middle class, the Third Estate, will consider us loons, because they are just a bunch of scared pussycats. Surely the press or Fourth Estate will refuse to acknowledge our existence. But who cares? It is we who are the true rulers of the world, a Fifth Estate of webmasters and bloggers; it is we who will educate the world about the other corrupt or timid four estates!

While most folks consider the Three R's fundamental — arithmetic, reading and writing. While some folks consider a Fourth R, respect, very important. We ask: what about the Fifth R, or responsibility?

While most astrologers point to the important conjunctions, oppositions, trines, and squares, which are first, second, third, and fourth harmonic aspects respectively, Indigos love to see those quintiles, the fifth harmonic, which carries a certain ambiguity like all FIFTH THINGS, but which can also be very positive and creative, and also gives a great deal of drive, especially drive of the spiritual variety.

As you've seen so far, we Indigos are about alternatives, and the Fifth World is all about alternatives. Usually the Number Four symbolically stands for completion, and anything beyond that is either something unneeded, or something alternative.

Alternative energy? This is very Indigo, very Fifth-Worldish, along with the environment in general.

Alternative medicine? This too is very Indigo. Surely fish oil is better than Ritalin for a child with ADHD, and we Indigos love to take charge of our own bodies anyway, not relinquish that power to doctors.

Alternative media? This certainly is very Indigo too, although alternative media is not just liberal media. That's what they say of the media in general, but alternative media is not corporate or mass media, folks.

Are Indigos about counterculture? You bet! We think almost any culture is better than the one we have now!

Indigos are also about alternative education (such as alternative schools, homeschooling, distance education and autodidacticism); alternative science (such as non-standard cosmologies, consciousness studies, parapsychology); alternative agriculture (such as Fifth World agriculture); alternative environmentalism (such as Fifth World environmentalism); alternative families (such as polyamorous groups); alternative nationalism (micronationalism); alternative law (Cesidian law); alternative DNS roots or Internets (the Cesidian Root); alternative calendars (the Cesidian calendar); alternative time systems (the Cyberterra Mean Time format); alternative meridians (the Cyberterra Mean Time standard); alternative astrologies (Bucksfanian astrology); alternative theologies (Analytic theology); and even alternative linguistics (the Tallinian Linguistic Classification or TLC system).

All and all, Indigos aren't just a race. They are truly the Alternative Race!

The Indigo race and the Homo sapiens ethicus subspecies

Among the natives of North America, stylised medicine wheels are typically depicted with four colours associated with both direction and race:

North — White
South — Red
East — Yellow
West — Black

Johann Friedrich Blumenbach (1752–1840) came up with a five-colour typology for humans:

White people (the Caucasian or white race);
Black people (the Ethiopian or black race);
Yellow people (the Mongolian or yellow race);
Cinnamon-brown or Flame-coloured people (the American race or red race);
Brown people (the Malay or brown race).

Today, because of the developing Fifth World paradigm, and depending on how one labels races by colour, one can speak of a fifth-sixth race as well, the Indigo race, which is:

A global, not a continental race;
A phenotype, not a genotype;
Not just a new race, but also a genuine new human subspecies.

The Neanderthal, or Homo sapiens neandertalensis, arose about 150,000 years ago in Ice Age Europe. Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons, or Homo sapiens sapiens, the latter also known as anatomically modern humans, coexisted which each other for thousands of years, and Neanderthals died out perhaps 28,000 years ago.

Archaeologists would have us believe that the dividing line between Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons is the physical difference between the robust Neanderthal and the slender Cro-Magnon; or the pronounced browridge of the Neanderthal, and the flat forehead of the Cro-Magnon. Yet the latest genetics research shows evidence that Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons interbred with one another.

Many people already hold the belief that the Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons interbred with each other, and the intermingling of the Cro-Magnon gene pool, and that of the 'pre-human' Neanderthal, is seen as the origin of the primal or brutish behaviour we often see in man today. Somehow, it was the species/subspecies that died out, that was forced into extinction (the Neanderthal), that is the origin of human sin, not the species/subspecies that still survives (the Cro-Magnon), and that has caused an almost similar extinction to Native Americans living in the Americas.

Many people today believe that white supremacist groups imitate their Neanderthal ancestors with their behaviour. Logic, however, would suggest that if there are criminal tendencies in white hominids today, then those tendencies are the ones that genetically won out in Darwinian terms, and thus originate in the 'advanced' Cro-Magnons, not in the 'brutish' Neanderthals!

In other words, white people today should thank the Neanderthals, not the Cro-Magnons, for all these traits:

The empathy at least some of us feel towards other human beings;
The blue eyes of some of us;
Our physical strength and endurance;
Our respect for the natural world;
The red hair of some of us;
The Rh negative blood of some of us, which also seems associated with high intelligence, and is evidence that we are hybrids of two similar, but genetically different subspecies;
And last, but not least, our very white skin!

These are the more obvious traits we probably inherited from Neanderthals, and most of these traits are either positive or neutral; yet that is not what most people believe, even scientists, and their beliefs simply don't add up!

Therefore, the real dividing line between Neanderthals and Cro-Magnons must be cultural, not physical. The famous French mathematician René Descartes (1596–1650) summed it up best when he said, Cogito ergo sum, or “I think, therefore I am”.

The great leap from Homo sapiens neandertalensis to Homo sapiens sapiens actually occurred more recently in time, and is actually recorded in historic, not prehistoric times. Diogenes of Sinope (412–323 BC) is credited with the first known use of the word 'cosmopolitan'. When he was asked where he came from, he replied, "I am a citizen of the world". This was an extremely original concept at the time, because the broadest basis of social identity in Greece was either the city-state to which the individual Greek belonged, or the Greeks themselves as a group.

The term 'cosmopolitan' derives from the Greek κόσμος (cosmos) meaning 'world', plus the Greek πόλις (polis) meaning 'city', 'people', or 'citizenry'. Many people think that 'cosmopolitan' means 'world city'. It is for this reason that cities like New York or London are called 'cosmopolitan' cities (or worldly and sophisticated). Yet Diogenes used the Greek word κοσμοπολίτης (kosmopolítis), which means 'citizen of the world', not 'world city'.

Cosmopolitanism is the idea that all kinds of human beings belong to a single community based on a shared morality. This is contrasted with communitarian and particularistic theories, especially the ideas of patriotism and nationalism. Cosmopolitanism is the idea that human beings are essentially one, and they are not citizens of Sinope like Diogenes, or even Greeks, but citizens of planet Earth. This intellectual development was a clear manifestation that at least one Homo sapiens neandertalensis had lost his political particularism (a bit like canine territoriality), and had embraced the idea of political universalism, a quantum leap that shows that at least some Homo sapiens neandertalensis were already a new subspecies called Homo sapiens sapiens.

Very recently another quantum leap has occurred. There are signs that at least one Homo sapiens sapiens is already a new subspecies called Homo sapiens ethicus. This occurred when a single human being, when asked where he came from, replied, "I am a citizen of Cyberterra". This is an extremely original concept, because the broadest basis of social identity in America can be found either in Americans as a group, in hyphenated-Americans, or in the 'citizen of the world' concept first promoted by Diogenes.

This New Man who has come into being is not a New Yorker, an American, an Italian-American, and he is not a 'citizen of the world' either. No, this New Man, to use Modern Greek, is a κυβερπολίτης (kyverpolítis) or 'cybercitizen', and if we go to the original meaning of the English root word 'cyber', this actually means that he is a πολιτικό κυβερνήτης (politikó kyvernítis) or 'political master'.

This New Man is not a citizen of some place he was accidentally born to, the citizen of some place he moved to, or the citizen of some planetary community he feels connected with, but a master, governor, or steersman of his citizenry or entourage.
